On April 5, the Hai Phong City People's Committee, in collaboration with the Hateco Group, held the inauguration ceremony of the Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port (HHIT) at the Lach Huyen port area. This is one of the deep-water port infrastructure projects in Vietnam fully funded by private capital.
The event was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Party, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Do Van Chien; Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam and Laos, Nicolai Prytz; and the Dutch Embassy. The delegates highly appreciated the impressive development of the HHIT deep-water port project and the successful cooperation between Maersk and Hateco, which strongly contributes to enhancing trade and cultural relations between Europe and Vietnam.
The Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port covers a total area of 73 hectares, with a wharf length of 900 meters and a depth of -16.8 m to -18.4 m, marking an important milestone in the maritime sector, contributing to promoting international trade and driving economic development for the North and the entire country.
